The Process of Planning
To demonstrate Graduate Profile Outcome 1 - Understand self-management strategies to organise personal life, maintain well being and continue
learning, the students must show the process of planning, generating evidence and self reflection on 12 occasions throughout the NZQA approved SPEC
programme within both the SPEC Level 1 workbook and the two interest modules.
The planning process ensure that students are involved in all aspects of their learning, which in turn raises self motivation and their organisational skills.
Identifying small steps towards the larger goal or overall task is crucial to developing their self management skills.
Learning goals make learning relevant and meaningful. There is a purpose to learning. Students are involved in the setting of their learning goals which
can be relating to the subject matter, or can be related to a competency.
