Secondary School Programme Accreditation Applications for South Pacific Educational Courses Limited’s (SPEC) approved programmes
Instructions
1. Login to NZQA’s secure extranet2. Click on the hyperlink ‘School’s Administration3. Click on ‘Applications’4. Find and click on ‘Create Application’ – it will appear below the list of applications that are already in process5. Click on ‘Programme Accreditation’ – please do not use ‘Programme Approval and Accreditation’ as this application type does not link to SPEC’s approved programmes.6. Click on ‘Contact Details’ then populate the required data fields, which are marked with asterisks, and save7. Enter the number of the SPEC programme (this will be on the letter we provide for you)
- 2853 for Skills for Living for Supported Learners - This is the number associated with the qualification.
- 2861 for Foundation Skills (Level 1) - This is the number associated with the qualification.
8. Click on the programme title – this will select the relevant SPEC programme9. Click on ‘Continue’10. Populate the required data fields for:
- Delivery and Assessment
- Consent to Assess
11. Upload documents that are relevant to the application such as
- Letter from SPEC
- CV or Job Description for teacher
- SPEC moderation procedures
- Procedure for review of programme delivery
12. Add any comments13. Submit application
Special School Programme Accreditation Applications for South Pacific Educational Courses Limited’s (SPEC) approved programmes
Instructions
1. All correspondence to be sent via email to: qaadmin@nzqa.govt.nz2. In the subject box please type - Programme Accreditation: Skills for Living for Supported Learners3. Your email should contain the following:
- The name and contact details (telephone and email) of the school and key contact person for the application.
- Confirmation that the school is applying to deliver South Pacific Educational Courses Limited’s approved programme, Skills for Living for Supported Learners ( Id: 11296)
- The delivery mode e.g face to face, blended, flexible, field work, practical etc.
- A description of the delivery modes ( choose a module/task you are delivering to show the varierty of different modes used )
- A description of assessment methods e.g portfolio evidence, video recording, teacher observations, witness statements, other.
- An attachment that indicates the school has the capability and resources to provide the programme (include a CV of the teacher and job description. This will be the person who oversees the delivery and assessment)
- An attachment that indicates formal arrangements to use South Pacific Educational Courses Ltd’s approved programme have been made. ( This is a letter that SPEC will provide to a school that has a current SPEC membership, has a trained SPEC Co-ordinator and that person has teacher status.
NZQA will process applications from Specialist Schools and refer any requests for further information to the key contact person. As part of processing an application, a record for the Specialist School will be created in NZQA’s database, and appear on theri website.
The charge maximum is $200.
Please note that Specialist Schools granted accreditation will only be able to deliver South Pacific Edicational Courses Limited’s approved programme. They will not be able to assess against unit standards.
